Experiments in Electronic Sound

The 2026 Experiments in Electronic Sound offers a platform for musicians and artists whose works blur the boundaries between composition, improvisation, and sound art. The festival follows a rich tradition at CalArts for embracing alternative ways of thinking, being, and creating in relation to electronic sound. By presenting a series of concerts, the Herb Alpert School of Music invites the broader community to come together and share their work.

2026 Festival Schedule

The fourth annual 2026 EESF will take place at the Herb Alpert School of Music at CalArts in Valencia, CA from September 24-26. Electronic sound ARTISTS from all corners of the universe will converge at CalArts over three evenings to present CONCERTS of experimental sound works.

CalArts is located about 25 miles north of Los Angeles. (map) There will be a concert each evening at 8pm in the CalArts Roy O' Disney Concert Hall. The concerts are free to the public and will be live-streamed to the CalArts Music School's YouTube channel.
