Experiments in Electronic Sound

Welcome

The 2025 Experiments in Electronic Sound offers a platform for musicians and artists whose works blur the boundaries between composition, improvisation, and sound art. The festival follows a rich tradition at CalArts for embracing alternative ways of thinking, being, and creating in relation to electronic sound. By presenting a series of concerts, the Herb Alpert School of Music invites the broader community to come together and share their work. We are excited to listen, discuss, wonder, and enjoy.

2025 Festival Schedule

The 2025 festival will take place at the Herb Alpert School of Music at CalArts in Valencia, CA from September 25 to September 27. CalArts is located about 25 miles north of Los Angeles. (map) There will be a concert each evening at 7:30pm in the CalArts Roy O' Disney Concert Hall. The concerts are free to the public and will be live-streamed to the CalArts Music School's YouTube channel.
